  1. LOL … nailed it
although this is pretty much a “Post FIRE” graph as well 🙂
Stay safe out there my friend

  2. that’s a helluva graphic. these poor sweats are defenseless against my living in them for days on end. i feel sorry for them. i’ve also determined that tuesdays and saturdays are good for a shower schedule.

haha, you might have to take those sweats to a special place just like a car battery to be disposed of after this. Too toxic!

  3. Substitute pj bottoms and hoodies with sweatpants and that’s me. Also substitute coffee with wine. 🙂

I thought that the purple line in the preview window would be COVID-19. Well played.

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

I just figured that was assumed… thanks!

FYI, this image made Yammer at our office this week. I can’t even mention that I read this site since, well, I prefer stealth wealth. 🙂

        • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

Sweet thanks for that. I’ve been hearing it’s gone crazy on Slack since everyones working from home but I dont use Slack.

          Thanks for stopping by!

Ha ha. Coffee, Sweatpants, driving, Internet spot on. Shaving a bit more since I am now shaving my head due to haircut places being shut down. Wife didn’t want me attempting comb overs…

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

Nice, I heard a lot of other dudes shaving bald as well. It’s low maintenance and you can’t screw it up!

So funny, thanks for the laugh!

Since my state is in a lock down, my shower usage has decreased (I miss working out at the gym!!!) from daily to every other day, sadly (especially for the people that live with me)!

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

I was going to put shower on there, so many other things could be included. Thanks for the comment and take a darn shower!!

Absolutely! Internet is a lifeline right now. Without it, I think this crisis would be far far worse. Can you imagine trying to shelter in place for a couple months without the internet?

And as far as person hygiene goes…. I’m lucky if I’m shaving once a week now!

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

I was saying the same thing to a friend last night. If the internet crashed tomorrow it would be the end 🙂

Uptrending graphs would include 1.house with really big windows that brings in good lighting 2. Online yoga classes 3. Good health. Downtrending graphs would include 1. Professional clothes 2. Restaurants/cafe 3. International vacations

Amazing how, what, and who we appreciate can change overnight.

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

Those are good…. in addition to windows in the house I would add a yard or some kind of outdoor space. I love my patio and small koi pond and I know this spring I’m gonna cherish them even more. It would really really suck to be in a condo or apartment with no balcony and also have your local jurisdiction discourage going outside. I’d go nuts for sure.

  9. Kay says:

    lol..very true……you missed eating!

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

Yes, but the importance of eating less when we’re inside and close by to food all day is huge!

  10. Tawcan says:

ROFL. Does haircut fall under shaving too?

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

Yeah probably, many dudes are shaving bald and I’m sure others will be going hippie!

  11. Ha!

As gas has dropped as low as $1.59 here in Jacksonville, FL, I’m lamenting that it will probably be weeks till I need to get gas again in my Prius 🙂

Speaking of my Prius, it has a panel that shows the number of miles driven each month, which is typically very high, as we do a LOT of driving – several trips between Florida and New York City (the places where we split our time) and Ohio (where our daughter is in college) each year. The typical month sees us driving 2000-4000 miles. (I have 125,000 miles already after just 39 months of ownership!) Will be very strange to see the oddball super low April number at the end of the month!

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

You know things are bonkers when you can get a full gallon of gasoline for $1.59, but when you go in the InsaMart at the gas station a 20oz bottle of water costs $2.00. It’s ludicrous!

      Thanks for stopping by!

      • Erik says:

To me that is incredibly cheap. I had to convert the currency and and translate it to liters. I ten found a graph showing historic price adjusted for inflation. The graph ended 1980 and the price still was slightly above your 1.59.

  12. Rob says:

Love it. I would add toilet paper, which would exponentially disappear off the graph in March…

    • Dave @ Accidental FIRE says:

Yeah there’s lots that could have been added but TP had already jumped the shark by then!
