50 Cent Changes Name To 68 Cent To Adjust For Inflation
LOS ANGELES – The popular rapper known as 50 Cent has legally filed to change his name to 68 Cent “to adjust for inflation”. The rapper, whose birth name is Curtis Jackson, explained to reporters that “my first album came out in 2003 and things were different then. 50 Cent back then could get you certain things. But I’m wiser now and learning about money. I think it’s time to face the facts that it’s gonna take 68 Cent to get that same stuff now.”
Mr. Cent famously filed for bankruptcy in 2016 after revealing he was $36 million in debt. Since then, he’s pledged to manage his finances better and this name change is part of that strategy. “Once I learned about investments, asset classes, and inflation, how could I go on pretending to be the same value I was before?”, said Cent. “Even municipal bonds and annuities are subject to the same market forces, you can’t change that reality”.
Wait, what just happened here? 68 cents? Lol, i guess 50 cent got wiser with his money.
Or did he? 😉
Lol, i’m going to lose sleep pondering this haha
Wait, is this true!?!?
If so, way to go 50!
Unfortunately 68 cent doesn’t roll off the tongue as smoothly as 50…lol
He’s done with his “roll off the tongue” days
ha ha ha!!! You’re great at these!
Thanks!
Lol, are you just trolling us?
That’s pretty good.
People like round numbers so he might not be as popular.
It’d be like changing Retire by 40 to Semi-retire by 41.
It doesn’t work. 🙂
I’m sooooo buying the “semiretireby41.com domain! A sure winner!
Ha! I love this.
Thanks Doc!
Nice one! With a name like Jackson, he should have gone with 20 dollar. He’ll be there soon though.
If he lives long enough, inflation will make him 20-dolla for sure!
“i can get fiddy cent?” i used to hear that all the time and sometimes talk like that around the house. i wonder how that chicken choker blew all that dough from vitamin water AND got 36 mil in debt?
chicken-choker – you’re killin’ me Freddy! Celebrities get very creative in finding ways to blow money
Haha sixty-eight cent just doesn’t have quite the same ring to it. Damn you, inflation!
He’s hoping to make it to one-dolla!
Rofl I love it!
Thanks Bob!
God I love you.
Aww, thanks Lily… I won’t tell your husband 😛
This is great! Reminds me of a funny joke I once heard… what concert would only cost you 45 cents to go see?
*drum roll*
50 Cent featuring Nickelback!
Perhaps that concert is a little more expensive now 😂
Ba-da-boom Ba-da-bing! I like it!
Shouldn’t he adjust his name to a lower amount because of inflation? Or did he invest wisely?
You’re the winner – I was waiting for someone to make that comment!
Mr. Cent is all about buying things (obviously), so he wants to keep his name with the same ability to buy stuff. But very good pickup 😉
