I reached financial independence and semi-retired in my mid-40's through hard work, smart living, and investing. This blog chronicles my journey and explores many aspects of personal finance including the psychological and behavioral factors that drive our habits.
Brilliant… I’m going to make this, a coffee maker with an attached selfie-stick that streams itself brewing so you can view it from your smartphone anywhere! Holy crap we’re gonna be rich, the world needs this – I could even sell it at Brookstone!
Ok now… lol when it comes to espresso though, well we have to chat. Drip coffee sure but not the good stuff. FI is about investing in what brings us value LOL
Haha, to your point this doesn’t count for espressos, lattes, or any of that fancy-schmancy stuff. I love cappuccinos but man if I had a machine I’d be drinking them all day. I’d never sleep..
Hey, you don’t have a bar for instant coffee.
Mrs. RB40’s dad complained that coffee at home is never as good as at the coffeeshop. Turns out he uses Folgers…
Ha, funny you bring up instant, I just replied to the Fioneers on Instagram that instant coffee has come a LONG way. I use it for camping trips for it’s simplicity and it’s way way better than what my Mom used to drink back in the day. I’ve found Folgers Instant to be the best as well!
Turnip FIRE! is like, real fake news. I mean, there’s fake news that’s meant to be real, and then fake news that’s meant to be fake. The fake news that’s meant to be real is like, actual fake news. Turnip FIRE! is fake fake news…. okay now I’m confused…. Anyhoo, don’t take any Turnip FIRE! stories seriously. Just don’t.
my $200 maker streams a video of the coffee brewing to an app on my $1200 phone! it maximizes my enjoyment.

Now, while I agree with most of your post. I have distinct taste in everything coffee including coffee makers. However, tea kettles are all the same to me. A $10 one is just fine. There is no way I would buy this one which was in my hotel room.

Oh wow, a $150 tea kettle! As you can see it sells well, has over 2800 reviews. And people wonder why we need personal finance blogs more than ever… 😉
