Turnip FIRE! Disclaimer:
Turnip FIRE! is like, real fake news. I mean, there’s fake news that’s meant to be real, and then fake news that’s meant to be fake. The fake news that’s meant to be real is like, actual fake news. Turnip FIRE! is fake fake news…. okay now I’m confused…. Anyhoo, don’t take any Turnip FIRE! stories seriously. Just don’t.
Amen to that!
Preachin’!
but i need taupe granite countertops. i’ll change them out in 5 years.
Make it three years or risk being irrelevant!
how about making it 6 or 7 years ?
Too true. Every month we don’t buy a vacation home I’m all about the green section on your pie chart.
Ha, I keep not buying a vacation home as well!
Preach! Maintain the thing is always the deal breaker for me.
Yup, things start to own us
Excellent chart, as George Carlin said :
“A house is just a place to keep your stuff while you go out and get more stuff.”
🙂

for reference
He was one of the best ever, really miss that guy!
Where’s the slice of the pie that says “Not having to buy more things to enhance/improve The Thing”???
Dang, that’s a great add… I think I might solicit your help for the next one 🙂
Missed not having to buy a bigger house to store that thing.
Yes – or rent out storage units! Thanks!
Good stuff. I’ve become much more conscious about this. Even though I can afford it, Im much more selective with my purchases now. You can really spend a lot of time and energy managing all this extra stuff when you could be doing better things with your time. Your chart says it all.
Thanks, and well said!
This order seems about right. Not investing the money is always my #1 thought, followed closely by storage and maintenance.
Thanks for stopping by!
This graph of course doesn’t include mountain bikes, cycling, running, mountaineering and backpacking right ? N+1 ?? LOL Cheers my friend, hope you had a great weekend.
I feel seen by a fellow outdoor adventurer…
And I would add guitars to that, haha
Hey Dave,
I always get a kick out of your graphs. keep them coming.
THANK YOU Alex!
